I live in Nassau County so I can give you a few names of local places to try. I don't own a Ferrari just yet (almost had 308GTS) but I have had a PPI done. I can't vouch for any of these shops as far as prices, quality, etc but hope this will help you out a little by providing options. Autosport Designs (www.autosportdesigns.com), located in Mineola. JMS Motors in Port Washington (www.jmsmotors.com). Joe Sciallo-Call him first! He races his own GT4! I briefly corresponded with him. Seems like a very nice guy. Berlinetta Motorcars in Huntington (www.berlinettamotorcars.com). Doug Pirrone has an ad on the Ferrari Club of America website (classifieds). European Motor Cars (?) also in Huntington. Michael Franco was mentioned previously on the 'chat, do a search. Got good reviews, if I recall. Motor Classic Corp in White Plains (www.motorclassiccorp.com) Auto Elite in Fort Lee, NJ as mentioned here. In Amityville: H&H ask for Harold (as posted here on another thread). Of course, you could always try Ferrari of Long Island in Glen Cove or Wide World of Cars in Spring Valley. |

Dan; I have used Bryan Vignale who ownes Independent in Short Hills NJ 973-376-7888. He is very very fair, neat, and only deals in F-cars. He ownes a 308 and a 328 himself. He is doing my major on the TR, and has done majors for others on this board, and is currently working on a 308 of a member of this board. Call him and tell him I sent you. He is 20 min from NYC right off of the train so it is very easy to get back and forth. |

Dan, I was in your shoes last month, but have finally decided to have the major service on my 328 done by Auto Elite in Ft. Lee, NJ. Search under "328 major service"and you'll find many recommendations for the tri-state area. Vinny at Auto Elite (201-947-2371) used to be the service manager at WWoC, and currently travels with the Ferrari of Long Island Challenge racing team. He and his brother do all the work. I've taken my car to him once before for some minor work, and was satisfied. |

sorry guys, i posted this several months ago when i justbought my 308(but have since lost the information). i have a mint 1974 308 gt4 with 50k miles on it. i am looking for a reasonable mechanic specializing in 308's to perform routine maintence, i.e. changing the fluids, some of the rubber, etc. the car had been garaged for some time when i bought it. i have been taking it out for quick spins every weekend, but want to double check everything and do a little preventative maintanence before i put it seriously on the road this spring. i would appreciate any recommendations. i am located in the nyc area. sincerely, dan 718-923-1709 |
