The space saver is an 18" wheel. The tire appears to be the same diameter as my 390 tires. The tread is much narrower (~4.5" maybe) than the width of my TRX tires. I never looked into replacing the tire. Mine has always had full pressure when I checked it. I figure it'll hold up enough to get me home unless I'm on a coast-coast trip. |

Is that space saver with "Dino" on it an 18 inch wheel? It's ok for a 308 with the 16 inch wheel? I am assuming the tire is smaller but what if you need to replace it? is there a source for these things? |

I checked the tire again, I was wrong it is an XWX not a TRX. Didn't the TRX's go on the Boxers and the XWX go on the 308"s? |

Tommy, I have 2 theories. One: The original spare was stolen and the owner did not want to spend the extra bux to get a 16" wheel. 2: Someone needed a 16 inch bad and was willing to pay 1K to get it. Your former owner sees a way to make a quick 750. or so and obliges. BTW in the 84 & 85 QV's I used to own, bith had identical wheels and tires as the front. I think Euros were equipped with the skinny space saver, just like 328's. Dave |

Verell, Maybe i am wrong, yet the word Dino is on mine. When i come by your place later today you can check it out. Been meaning to REMOVE the spare to save weight actually. No need for a spare with good friends and 24 hr free flatbed at my disposal... and a can of fix-a-flat. Enjoy the Drive (to Verell's home today), Steven R. Rochlin

Anybody want to swap? It's a really nice tire/wheel combo. Very clean. |

I wouldn't know 'how', but if that's really a 390 TRX tire on a 14" rim, don't you dare use it. You've got a risky force (miss)fit on your hands. My Euro '82 GTS QV came with a 'dino' wheel. |

Mine (a Euro) has the 390 tire on the thin wheel that has the word "Dino" stamped on it as well. |

I wonder how in the hell this 14 inch wheel and TRX ended up in my car? |

Euro 308QVs with 390mm wheels have the thin oddball 390mm spare wheel/tire that Greg O. mentioned. US 308QVs with 390mm wheels have a regular full size 390mm spare wheel/tire. |

Tommy, I think it depends upon your car being US or Euro. My Euro 308QV came with a 390 "Dino" wheel with a very narrow tire. This was standard equipment for my 30QV. |

Tommy -- First, a small cyber-slap for making me do this -- go to the F Owner's Site Spare Parts Vendor (FerrariUK) and check for yourself! The SPC illustrations at FerrariUK show that if your '82-'84 or '84-'85 US 308QV came with 16" wheels the spare is just another regular front wheel (7"x16") and regular front tire (205-55-16). |

My 84 308 has a pristine factory 14 inch wheel with a new TRX tire on it for a spare. No way this was factory. Was the original spare a full size 16 inch wheel and, if so, what size tire came on it since the front tire is different then the back? |
