There is not likely to be enough room above the wheel well to run a fuel line |

Mark, you got mail. That picture doesn't look like this is very realistic though. Hmm, gotta think about it. |

Andreas: Attached is a picture from my 328, from inside the wheel well, of the Fuel Filler neck. As you can see there is not a lot of room for an elbow. Also, what is missing is the oil cooler inlet duct which covers the fuel neck. To move the filler neck aft, you would have to go thru the oil cooler duct. PS: this is the first time I have uploaded pictures if they don't come through you can email me. Also, I have another picture that is too big to upload. If you email me I will email it to you. Mark |

Thanks Peter for that support. But just take a look at the current GTO thread in the General Discussions area and you see what I mean. Of course I won't try to pass it off as the real thing, but some people come across as hateful. Love that GT4 in black. Looks extra nice. |

Sorry guys for not being terribly clear, to be honest I don't even know exactly what these things are called precisely. Matt, you're quite right, I'm talking about the fuel 'port'/intake/valve whatever behind the left louvre (which is behind the rear 1/4 window). I'd like to move that to a new location on the left rear fender ( a la 348, 355 etc). Since I consider myself mechanically challenged I have no clue what is involved in this so I wanted to get a rough assessment from you guys (maybe even somebody did this once). Based on Rex Racer's statements it doesn't seem to be too big of a deal, which I thought it wouldn't. So that's cool. I have to apologize for not being totally honest with you guys: The reason I'm asking such a seemingly strange question is that I'm making plans for a 288 GTO rebody project. But since that is politically uncorrect on this board I didn't want to mention that. Sorry for that. Now you can unpack your flame throwers and tell me I'm a goof. But I won't care. You can call it a kitcar if you like, I'll call it an 'Elaborazione'.

Andreas, I guess I don't understand. "How difficult would it be to move the fuel intake (port?) of a 308 GTS from behind the louvres to the left rear fender?", The left rear fender scoop on a GTS feeds the oil cooler on my 78 GTS. The right fender scoop feeds the air filter box and the transaxle assembly. There are no ducts behind the louvres so there is no possibility of moving the fuel intake port? What am I missing?

Andreas, Find a shop specializing in custom work, like a hot rod shop. This will be easy for them. Cutting, welding, custom brackets, paint. They could probably use parts from a 348 for the structure. |

How will you gwt the fuel from the rear to the tanks. The angle will be too shallow or nonexistent. |

How difficult would it be to move the fuel intake (port?) of a 308 GTS from behind the louvres to the left rear fender? I have the feeling it is not such a big deal, but I don't really know what is involved with moving it. Any takers? Why? Well cause I like it more on the fender like the 348 and 355 have 'em. |
