Re: Clutch: I was just on www.owners.ferrari.com and they showed the A/C clutch for the GT4 (I'm reasonably certain the later cars are the same) for a decent price - somewhere around 100GBP, if I remember correctly.

Paul: A big problem with the whole A/C system is the overall design. I got mine to blow at 38 deg, decent air volume. However, it's almost useless, as it first blows on the windshield, and is then deflected to your forehead. Meanwhile, your chest is baking in direct sunlight. So you have icicles hanging off your glasses, and sweaty armpits. It's almost as funny as the cigarette lighter and the radio.

I would check into a Sanden Compressor, they use 1/3 the hp of the York piston type and are much more efficient

I think you'd need a 508 or 507 model and a new mounting bracket for the compressor they sell for around 200.00 for the complete unit with clutch and 50.00 for the brackett plate, I did this on my prev 911 and it made a big diff

Thanks Guys

i guess it needs freon or something, it was suppose to be serviced at the 30k service! Air flow is good, temp is bad? Perhaps a freon leak?
We shall c?

I have an '85 and the air works very well. However, when i first got the car I noticed that the duct-connections were real loose and sloppy ( under the radio). I tightened everything up and used 2 large hose clamps tosecure the stretchable connector tube and this improved the air flow very much as well. The actual temperature of the coditioned air gets very cold.

Saw this description in another thread - can't recall who to credit it to...

"The A/C is like a mouse breathing across an ice cube"

Mine works - but it doesn't do well on a 100 degree Texas summer day.

Yes they work, when in full & proper operating condtion lower vent temp of 42-46 degrees is normal. They lack a little (ok alot) on 'volume of air' by todays standards, but the air temp should be cold.

Do they work? All mine does is blow ambient temp air. Does anyone know of a local person in Orange County, CA that can service it? Thank you
