308 e-brakes are the worst part of the car. Many here do not even use them because they could bind. Ckeck the tension nut. Follow the cable from the pass side up to the nut and try to adjust it. Many times it will not. Add it to your do to list and move on.

My E-brake isn't working on my 78' 308. My calipers were rebuilt before I purchased the car. I checked the cable/adjusted it, took it off and moved them manually. I have even moved the arm on the calipers manually with the cable and it still won't hold. Is there a part internally in the caliper that they may have put back together wrong, etc. that would cause this to happen. Both rear calipers won't work when the arm or e-brake lever is pulled. I have never taken the calipers apart. I also adjusted the rear brake pads closer and it still isn't grabbing. Thanks.
