Bill, Did you get an owners manual with the car? Most of the answers are there. If you did not, then you can download the owners manual from the Ferrari Owners Website. I just got my 355 and have found the answers in the manual. ------------------------------------------------- I just got the complete shop and parts manual on CD yesterday. The "owners manual" "all those little red books" are on their way. That reminds me I'm gonna call them right now "what the heck is taking so long"??? |

Bill - 1. Get a parts manual from ferraribooks.com - a must have. 2. Get an owners manual from the dealer..very detailed instructions for oil change, etc. 3. Oil values differ for various years..my 97 requires 5-30 synthetic (I think yours may also) and I have switched to Mobile 1. 4. Holds 10 quarts. Note - marks between dipstick is 2 quarts and manual says you will burn a quart every 600 miles (normal). Stick is in reservior cap..check with engine warm & off. Watch cap..Very Hot! 5. Pushing Down the "Stop" button will kill the a/c and fan. If they continue to run with the button depressed you may have a bad resistor, which is a minor repair.

The front hood that covers the luggage compartment is what I am referring to. Under the various covers on either side hides the fuse boxes, windshield wiper refill, cd changer, battery cut-off switch, brake fluid resevoir, and a few other maintenance areas: A/C sight glass and such. The on/off switch should actually be labelled "STOP". When pushed down, (it should illuminate), it is in the "STOP" or off position. Hope that helps. |

Your battery is located in front of the R/F tire. There is an access panel directly in front of the wheel. There is also a battery cut-off switch located directly above the battery accessed under the bonnet. WHATS A BONNET?? The on/off switch functions to turn of the entire climate control system when in the auto mode (the climate control, not the F1 tranny). This switch also deactivates the A/C compressor when operating the climate control in any of the various manual settings. OK BUT WHAT IS OFF IN WHEN ITS IN(LEVEL W/ THE CONSOLE) OR WHEN ITS POPPED OUT AND PROTRUDING?? Congrats on your purchase, and feel free to ask any other concerns. THANKS IN ADVANCE... |

The targa top should split in half. You store the "halves" infront of your radiator intakes..it makes the car run warmer and therefore better No more jokes, I promise but this is too much fun. -------------------------------------------------- LOL Yea you just crack them over you knee , or you can brace it firmly up against a corner of floor and wall and kick it "like when you snap a 2x4 right?? " PS... where the heck is my battery??? |

behind the seat in the 328, I would think 355 is the same, of course you have more room to leave it at home. |

check ebay...they ussually have all the shop and service manuals on a cd format. At least check to see what the price is. As far as the oil...it is not like a 328. Yours has a dry sump, so the change may or may not be as difficult. (I have done a 308 not a 355...ask someone with first hand experience) As far as saving the clutch...rev it to 8K then pull your paddle back |

Bill, check www.italiancarparts.com and www.ferraribooks.com (no affiliation with either). I bought my parts and workshop manuals from italiancarparts.com and they have proven to be invaluable. They were authorized copies from what I understand and came bound. Kinda pricey. Not sure what they have for 99 F1's. Call the people and check it out. Nice car by the way. |

Whats the best way to save the clutch plates? no burnouts! lol - just use your head, don't slip it and I like to put mine in neutral at stops to relieve the pedal pressure. How often on the oil change ?? I would say 1,500 miles or 4 months, whichever comes first Can I change the oil myself?? Yes, what works for me with the 328 is the special 12 mm hex and back the car onto ramps. Not sure if 355 is that eazy. Should be. Do I need the special Mobil 1 Ferrari oil??(which is what its got) That is fine, I just use Mobil 1 15w-50 from Wal Mart Where the hell can I get a shop manual fot this car "FAST". Try our sponsor www.ferraribooks.com
