Hi Ben -- I just received the TR front and rear EBC greenstuff pads via Tirerack, but I've not installed them yet (I'm planning to wrap this work in with a valve clearance/adjustment soon -- I'm at about ~15K miles and 3 years from the last major). I'm going to try going ungooped first just as an experiment (but I'll be pleasantly surprised if I don't regret this later). |

Hey Steve! OK I have pulled my pads off 3 times in 2k miles. I have minimized the squeal by gooping the pistons/calipers, repeatedly deglazing and rotors and pads (and camphering the pads too). I am now ready for a change as well. Have you yet tried these EBC Greenstuff? or how about the Porterfield R4s? ANY TR OWNERS OUT THERE WITH COMMENTS on these or other (front brake) pad options??? I have not (yet) tracked my car (but may do so lightly), but agressive street driving is not out of my reach, and your list as above sounds right on target. Anyone tried ANY of these out (or others)? -Ben |

I'm thinking about trying the EBC Greenstuff brake pads: http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/ebc/greenpads.jsp on my TR at my next change since my (street) priorities are: 1. Decent 1-time emergency stopping power 2. low dust 3. low noise 4. low rotor wear (5. at reasonable cost) Any comments/experience pro or con? |
