Hans, You're correct about cutting the horn wire(been there, done that). See my post towards the bottom of: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/186998.html for how to avoid cutting the wire. The post also has a pointer to a photo of Carmen's Home Depot tool. Unhappily (my empty wallet!!)308s use 3 ring nut sizes: 28mm - timing drive gear (BAUM #: FER 104) 38mm - the steering column ring nut (BAUM #: FER 105) 45mm - clutch drive & trans. ring nut (BAUM #: FER 102). I think the 328 may use yet another size for it's clutch. |

I've heard that the Baum unit can/will slice the horn wires unless you are extremely careful. |

The Tool is the Ferrari Castle Nut Socket, fits the steering wheel nut and other various fastners around the car, smog pump pulley nut, cam drive gears nuts, etc. Once the nut is removed, the wheel is still often (not always, but often) a tight swedge fit to the shaft, requiring the use of a puller and a few times I've even had to apply heat to the collar on extremly stuck pieces. |

Many here have done a homemade version from a pipe or socket. Alternatively, Baum Tools also offers one (FR105): http://www.baumtools.com/english/product_sheets/ferrari.html Do a search on "baum" and you should see some threads that show the homemade versions too. |

Hey Guys, Do you have any tips on the 308 steering wheel hub removal? I see that the nut is round with four straight slots in it. What tool has anyone used to remove it? Thanks, Steve |
