Jeff, this is interesting....What in fact is "factory oem" for the various 308 and 328 models? I see mentioned the AP/Borg and Beck, Valeo, and others...

All...

Our Genuine clutch kit for 308 works out at 317.27 or about $501.56. The pilot bearing is another 8.20 or 12.96. Probably a bit heavy to ship but if it helps, here it is !

I got a clutch kit from George and if you dont mind a real heavy clutch pedal, then it is a good deal. If I had to do it over, I would try finding the newer clutch style with a lighter pedal.

Anouther option is to rebuild what you have already. I found a place here in tampa that re-clutched my clutch, turned the flywheel, rebuilt the pressure plate, and rebuilt the TO bearing. I forgot the exact cost but I think it was around 200$ The advantage with this is they have several different grades of clutch material to choose depending on your driving application. If anyone wants here is the number

George is in Columbus Ohio.......about 10 minutes from me.....he's a great guy, and his parts are excellent.....I go to him sometimes, but man his labor is outrageous.......but he's a great guy and is very trust worthy.....his shop is awesome. In the foyer, he has a huge Ferrari V12 engine block, with a glass table top....it's very cool to see......

Easier (and usually cheaper) to buy direct from George Evans than via eBay. And, yes, it's AP Borg & Beck. No question.

Also good price on a set of 4 Weber carb kits, cam belts, bearings, water pump ($350 new).

Can't remember the web site, but do a Google search. Might be www.evansautomotive.com , but not sure. Can't do web ordering, but it gives the phone #.

Tom, he's on ebay. Are you sure it is an AP clutch, because I've seen some of the ebay clutches and they are definately not made by AP. Don't know if they came from George or not.
