Sorry, stupid on my part. I am embarrased but the light is a switch. I didn't get it & thought it was just a light. I realized once Mike & Matt kept referring to it as a switch. The switch was dirty and caked up, a little extra pressure........ I heard the "snap" of breaking through crud and the "light" started working as a push button switch. I am going to change my name to Homer (DOH!) |

Are we talking about the fan light on the dash next to the speedo with the toggle switch next to the shifter or the defrost switch and light next to the hand brake? |

Barney, Maybe be a simple electrical short/problem. You are right, the orange light ot the top left should ONLY be on when the heat fans are on. Maybe remove dash and check to see how the wiring is. Somehow doubt fuse related as then it would be OFF all the time, not on. Again, could be a weird short of some type. Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin |

It's the light on the console but it is not on the switch, it is below the switch near the hand brake. I don't see it listed in the owners manual. |

...Are you referring to the light on the switch itself, towards the very back of the center console, or the orange light (fan/blower on indicator) on the instrument cluster near the speedo/tack? |

The little orange defroster light on the console is on all the time (81 308 GTBi). Searching the archives, I found it was usually just that the fan switch was left on. Not the case here. Any ideas? |
