Yea Peter it is hard to explain and I'm not completly sure how it works. The adjustment screw and spring stop kind of compounds the problem. Oh you are right I'm talking the side to side linkage. On all of the other multi carb set ups I'm use to they have a direct coupling which allows you to adjust the butterflies seperately and then attach the linkage. This has the spring loaded feature. I'll have to study it more to see how it works. Also have you found a weber book that give you tune up directions for Ferrari when you can't use the CO tubes. Mine are broken.

Wait, it may not be the opposite direction to turn the link-screw, but whatever direction (CW, or CCW) that keeps that opposite carb throttle plate in the same position.

Hard to explain, but take a look at it and hopefully you'll understand what I mean...

Are you talking about the link that joins the carbs side-by-side? In that case, if you turn the idle speed/throttle stop screw on the carb body, turn that link's screw the same amount (or thereabouts to keep the same air-flow rate) in the opposite direction. Do the reverse if you have to adjust that opposite carb.

Can someone tell me how the 308 weber linkage is set up.If you disconnect the front set to rear set of carbs what is the method of setting the base adjustment on the idle screws. Only 1 carb on each bank has this screw. The haynes manual tells you to back off on the throttle plate and when it just touches then give it a 1/2 turn in. Question here is how does the spring /screw linkage thing work that connects the 2nd carb on each bank?
