My suggestion,

change the oil, brake fluid and maybe even the coolant (<$500), proceed to enjoy car.
After another year or two (put on say 5000+ miles) maybe it'll be ready for it's newxt service.

T.Rutlands has the top weatherstrips. They fit extremely well. Get ready for sticker shock for a piece of foam.

The major service was done in about a four month period from 1998-1999. I love my ferrari. The only thing wrong with it is that the roof leaks. It runs perfect and all the electronics work excellent. Even the AC works and blows ice cold air. Please lmk if you know where i can get weatherstripping for the targa roof.

Bens right. I bought my 84 308 QV with 44,000 miles on it. When I got into the reciepts for the car, I found that the 30K service was done 10 years ago! OFF CAME THOSE CAM BELTS!! immediately after I read that. So be extremely careful Andrew. A broken cam belt will cause a 32 valve demolition derby and a $10,000 bill for a rebuild.
ALWAYS BE pro-active with these cars. How do you like the car? I absolutely LOVE my car. Be sure to check out Nick Sciannas website....he is the Ferrari V8 God 'round here.

Oh yeah, and your service intervals should be at every 15k.

Congradulations!

question....

ok last service was at 37k, how long ago was that? 1 month? 1 year? 10 years?

I'll offer my thoughts once I hear the answer to that

Hello all,

I just purchased my first Ferrari, a 1984 308 GTSi, about a month ago. it has 39,000 miles and it is almost time for the 40k service. What did you pay for this service? I want to get a feel for how much i should cost.

The vehicle had about $6,900 worth ot repair at 37,000 miles including new wiring harness, fuel injectors cleaned, replaced radiator, new timing belts, new water pump, new cam seals, new drive belts, completely new exhaust, new clutch, & new brakes. Since it had all of this work done before i purchased it, it probably wot need a complete 40,000 service. Am i correct to assume this?

Thanks for your time.
