Frank, If you call Hirsch they will send you the info. on how to apply the dye prior to you ordering it. Also the finished product leaves the leather soft and pliable as new. MR. MAGOO |

HEY FRANK, I just redyed the seats in my 79 308 GTS. The seats are tan or biscuit in color. I used Connolly dyes which are now water based resin lacquer product. It was easy to use and did a professional looking job. I was more then pleased with the results. You can obtain this dye from Bill Hirsch Co. 800-828-2061 if you have a tech question you can ask for Bill directly. You may also have small cracks in the leather. They also have a great product for that. I would recommend getting it. You wont be disappointed. MR. MAGOO 79 308 miss P.S. The no. for the biscuit color is 3218WB. Be sure to also order the clear topcoat. |

Try www.ferrariclub.com and go to the FAQ. There are several articles on seat restoration. |

A few days ago I found a site that explained in detail the restoration of 308 seats. He used a water based dye as opposed to a laquer based product that leaves the seats soft and does not harden. I believe the products he used are from Connoly. The process involves cleaning the leather with a solvent, repairing cracks, and re-dying the seats. It was an excellent article, and I would like all the info, but I stumbled across it and cannot remember what site it was on, or through what link I found it. Has anyone seen this article, and where can I find it? Regards Frank |
