Patrick, The 16" was in width (length)and the 1" was in diameter, but you could use any length that you wanted to use. The 1" was about the minumun diameter that would keep the nose up and give any protection from right to left side.

I thought I'd give this a little bump back to the top to see if anyone had info on the rubber or elastomeric front spoiler and adjustment on the Konis. BTW, stock tires and front bushings look fine. The roller sounds like a good idea but I don't quite understand the size. Did you mean a 1" diameter? What was the 16" measurement?

Well Patrick, if it's any consolation I have repaired the front spoiler on my 308 3 times, with numerous touch-ups in between...
I like the look of the deep euro-style front spoiler, it just seems to make the car.
But that darn trade-off... scrape, kathonk, Damn...
One other thought, are you running stock profile tires? .. and just one last thing, you might want to take a peak at your front bushings and see what shape they are in, a little worn rubber goes a long way with a low car...

Good Luck with it.

Patrick, a Diablo that I once had owned had an actual roller attached to the bottom of the spoiler and allowed the car to just roll over high spots. This worked great and it was only about 1" X 16" and you really could not see it. Whoever had owned the car before myself had added it and it certainly made you relax when going into driveways and the like. The roller was attached to the frame so that you could not see it and you really had to look close to notice it as it was black.
Good Luck

My 88 TR is great fun but almost nothing is more frustrating and at times embarassing as going through an intersection or going in a driveway and hearing that awful scraping sound as the fiberglass chin spoiler grinds itself into oblivion. Several other TRs I've seen seem to have a slightly higer ride height in the front. What does it take to adjust this? Is it just an adjustment on the Konis or do you have to replace the front springs? I've also heard a rumor that some early TRs had a rubber chin spoiler that flexed instead of cracking. At $800-$1200 for a replacement, I'd like it to last more than a couple of weeks.
Thanks in advance for your input!
