The numbers from the Dyno from Rob's car:
Rob's 1986 328 GTS 210.8 hp (stock air filter), 228.4 (new K&N air filter). Rob did these tests back to back.
My car did 216.3, bone stock.

need to get a tazzo performance analyzer and test your car with you driving before and after mods are done. i just dont believe these simple ad on inflow and outflow air mods can add so much power when factories do internal top and bottom end mods to get the same kind of improvements for huge $.

porsche gt3 is 20% hp increase and probably costs extra $15000 over regular 996 just for the engine. if all you need are air filters and headers why go to all these troubles (even taking emisions into account)?

i might be wrong but a tazzo or g analyzer would help solve controversy

A trusted friend had his F355 dynoed before and after the fact of adding test pipes only. He already had a Tubi installed. The differnce was 10hp AT THE WHEELS. This has to be the best bang for the buck IMHO. He then had the ECU's tweaked with for more power...

MY355,

I am having Tubi manifolds, testpipes and K&N airfilters, fitted in the next 6 weeks to my 348GTC. I have a 1 yr. old Competition muffler which I am not changing to Tubi. I already had the cats gutted but still expect decent gains based on the following from Tubi UK:

"Tubi Sport Manifolds for the Ferrari 348 are pretty much competition items - they actually contain internal "air injection rails" to rapidly acclerate exhaust flow even further out of the engine - this has a kind of "reverse supercharging effect" which further adds to a total power increase. With Tubi Sport Manifolds, Test Pipes, and a straight "comp" muffler you should be running around 32hp over stock and that's absolute fact - chuck in some free flow Air Filters and you've got 35hp over the 300 figure that your car is genuinely likely to be running."

I intended to have the car dynoded before and after so I will post results as soon as its done. It clearly may be different on the 355 (perhaps even better) but maybe it will give you a guide.

Cant wait...

I have a Tubi, test pipes (with the pre-cats cleaned out) and K&N's on my 512TR. I can't tell you numbers, but the horsepower increase was obvious the first time I drove it (and the sound was not too bas either)

I am running a 328 with Tubi, factory cat and K&N air filter and dyno'd at 214.5 hp which works out to about 258 hp, with a 17% driveline loss. This was on a Dynojet machine, and I did not test before, only after. So, not sure what it all means, other than I am making stock hp right now. :-) Every car seems to take to mods differently. I believe Rob gained 10 hp from the K&N, but also understand that is not the only changes to his car, so if you have a stock 328, don't expect 10 hp just from that change, or maybe you will; who really knows, without dyno runs to be sure.

I know another "chatter" on this list who ran his 83 QV with Tubi, no cats and K&N and pulled 200hp at the wheels which is 241hp at the crank. That is a solid 11hp over stock.

Hi,

So far all i have read concerning K&N is that yes, you get better air flow... but also more junk into your engine. For me, lowering the reliability/cleanliness of the inside of my engine is not worth a measly 10HP. Of course if you are racing your car and rebuilding the engine regularly, use the K&N.

Enjoy the Drive,

I have dyno charts on here for my 348 with a K&N, Tubi, and test pipes. I would not shoot two high with the 355 cause the exhaust is already much better than the 348 two can system. However the K&N as usual will give a performance boost. Just search for my name and dyno and maybe ECU.

I thought the Tubi was good for 25 HP on a 355.

Rob Lay has with his 328. I think he saw something like 10 hp just from the K&N.

If anyone has done this what gains and possibly has anyone dynoed "after the fact"??
