The Eastwood powder is a pain in the ass but used as directed IT DOES WORK. Depending on your scratches, it will improve/eliminate the problem to the point you will be plesed either way. It's a lot of pressing (gently) with the drill, but worth the effort.

I had a rather deep chip in my windshield and purchased a kit from the Eastwood Co. (http://www.eastwoodco.com/)that I was very pleased with. I would guess this is similar to the Griot's kit discussed in the link. Since we are talking about a special buffing wheel and very fine compound, you can see that glass material surrounding the chip or scratch needs to be removed to "smooth" it out. My deep chip was GREATLY minimized to be nearly undetectable. I would imagine your shallower scratches would disappear. |

Bob, I also faintly remembered the thread. Actually I have very tiny long scratches no single chips if you know what I mean. Will ask some glass people about it but have already feared that the only real solution is the exchange of the whole windshield (which I wont do in any case since its not that bad)! Hello everybody, I have discovered several scratches on my windshield and on my side mirrors due to false cleaning and washing machines, I guess. Are there any possibilities to eliminate these scratches without simply exchanging the whole things? Any recommends would be greatly appreciated... Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller |
