Heiko, I have got the Intermotor 50172 which has a temp cut in/out of 87-82 Deg C. The thread is the same M14 x 1.5p The difference is that the connectors come out vertically rather than horizontally. (See picture) There is still plenty of room for the wires The temperature band for the Ferrari part is 90/80 so the 50172 will cut in a little earlier and drop out a little earlier. One thing to point out for others is that if you need to replace this item, make sure you soak the thread with some WD40 or similar for a few hours beforehand. The Oil radiator is aluminium and the thermo switch mounts onto a collar that is only tack welded onto the R/H side of the oil rad. With the rad being aluminium care is needed when trying to remove this item as the brass body of the thermo switch and the aluminium of the collar tend to become a bit corroded over time. The hole in the collar does not go into the rad - the collar just transmits the heat to the thermo switch. I did phone up the UK distributor for Elmwood and they said that they would have to make the part to order. I did get a costing of 7.50 each on a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces. The Intermotor 50172 part cost just over 10 and was in stock at my local motor factor. Paul

About the same price over here! What drives me mad is that they charge $100 for a $5 part! After doing a bit more homework I have found out that it is a standard "Elmwood" B327 style M14 x 1.5p stud mount sensor. The criteria for the switch is close @ 90 degrees c & open @ 80 degrees c. Here is a picture of the Elmwood thermo switch. Paul

This is the temperature switch that is mounted on the oil cooler radiator that activates the fan. Is there a alternative to the Ferrari part? Thanks Paul
