I recently replaced the stock system in my TR with a custom built high- flow system and retained the original. If you plan to show the car, points are deducted if not original. E-bay had a used TR stock system on with cats, etc. that was bid to approx. $1800....reserve was at $2895!! Storing it would be advised.

Bruce, my 91 TR came with a BORLA exhaust and no cats when I bought it from the first owner but last year I had to rinstall the stock system to pass our local Air-Care program. Now, poor sound but the car is legal. Fortunately, the local dealer still retained the original exhaust system in storage! If it was lost, I was told that a new system would cost about $ 6000.00 Canadian or $ $4500.00 US. I plan to soon reinstall the BORLA after the cats and still hope to pass Air-Care this year. Don.

bruce w. -- do you mean just the silencer (muffler) or the whole system (precats, cats, and silencer)?
