There's a snap ring on the end of the shaft. After removing the snap ring the splined CV joint inner race will slide off the shaft -- see this thread:

OK I just got the Right rear half axle off to replace the rubber boot on my 3.2 Mondial. But I can't figure out how to take it apart to remove the old boot and put the new one on it. The parts diagram doesn't show the internals of the universal joint.
