Steve, only 5000? I'll due some work this weekend based on your suggestions. Tom, I'll hit the archives again trying some various search options.

Brad -- You might give the airflow metering plates a (non-running) mechanical "feel" just to confirm that they're both moving smoothly and have about the same mechanical resistance vs deflection. With the aircleaner still off, you could also fire it up and visually watch the movement of the airflow metering plates as you accelerate thru the trouble area (say idle to 3000 RPM) just to see if you detect anything abnormal on one bank vs the other. And finally, if you have a KE US version, you might try looking at the O2 sensor voltage outputs (water temp > 165 deg F) -- both when plugged in (closed loop) and when unplugged (open loop) -- again just to compare bank behavior (the single wire from the 3-wire O2 sensors is the output wire). There's only about 5000 other thing it could be but these three are relatively painless to check.

My '86 Testarossa has some sigificant faltering in the 2000 rpm range. If I throttle evently through this range it shudders, until I get to 3000 after which it settles down thereafter. Recently replaced with factory plugs, extenders, wire sets, HT lead, distrib, rotor and added battery. System recharge is low (13.4) but I don't think this should be the problem. Some improvement but still not right. I'm figuring I'll add injector cleaner and will be replacing fuel filter. Have not verified if any air leakage at intake. Keeping things simple to start, any suggestions on diagnosing probable causes? I have factory parts and maintenance manual. Checked archives but nothing seemed to stand out as similar problem.
