Jonathan: On a motorcycle you always have the fear of falling when off the pavement. I was lucky, didn't get off, but sure scared the out of me. Art |

I think Michelin Pilot Sports are the only tire in the 255/35/18 size and they may have discontinued it. The problem is getting front and tire sizes. Some tires come in the right rear width but don't have the correct front and visa versa. I know just running the 295 rear with the 225 fronts on stock wheels with rear 15mm spacers the car was much more neutral and much less oversteer. |

Based strictly on math: front: 225/40ZR18 rolling radius 25.09" plus:: 255/35ZR18 rolling radius 25.03" a perfect match Rear: 265/40ZR18 rolling radius 26.35" plus: 295/35ZR18 rolling radius 26.13" a little low plus: 305/35ZR18 rolling radius 26.40" a pefect match Front to rear: 225/265 = .849 255/295 = .869 +1.8% 255/305 = .836 -1.6% The 255/295 will have a triffling more oversteer than the factory tires, and the 305/255 will have a triffling moreundersteer. I know from personal experience that lowering the rear reduces oversteer, so the combination of rolling radius and oversteer on the 295/35ZR18s will tend to cancel. Verdict: 255/35ZR18 fronts and 295/35ZR18 rear are a very good match. {In addition, the 305/35ZR18s will require more rear wheel.} |

I run 295 rear and 255/30/18 front Michelin Pilot Sports on HRE 10 and 9 inch rims. Car handles much better and brakes much better. No tire scraping and looks much better. |

Jonathan: I've never run a car at either location, but I regularly run 1:30s at Willow on a production bike, when I go there to ride. I've run buttonwillow, but I'm too embarassed to tell the times(I've gone off track too many times to count there). Art |

Arthur, I can't because we were not timing, when I bought the car it hard Very Hard Pneumant stock size Tires on it and the ass end was always loose, (at Button Willow) With the S02's, Alignment and Corner Balance (Big Willow Springs) the traction difference is so great it is like night and day. |

Jonathan: Can you give me the difference in times with the two tires? Larger vs. standard. |

Robert, Ride Height, did not change dramatically, just fills up your fender well (no clearance problems) as far as speedo, no difference, only difference is a slightly bumpier ride (just slightly)we also added 40mm H&R spacers to widen track 1" in front and rear, Joseph I will snap some shots on Wed when the car comes back from service, as far as alignment: Yes we aligned the car as follows: Camber Front.1.0 Rear 2.2, Caster 7.9, Toe 2 degrees out in Front 5 degrees in Rear. After 2 laps to warm tires (S02's) car sticks like glue with this set up! |

Jonathan, Did the height of the tire change. How does it affect the speedmeter? |

Mr. Donner, Could you supply a close up picture of the 295 size tire on your rim? I am assuming you are running the stock rim. Any alignment changes to maximize the contact patch? Great color of car in your profile. Many thanks. |

I have Bob, I went from stock in the rear to 2 sizes larger, it makes all the difference in the world, I drive the piss out my 355 almost everyweekend on the track. you can run 295 35 18 in the rear, run stock in the front. I seroiusly reccomend Bridgestone S02's Very, Very sticky tire. email me if you would like more info or help with this. |

I tried looking in the archieves section but was unable to find the info (although I have read posts before). I need to replace my pzeros on my 355. Has anybody gone to a wider tire? Any problems? Thanks, Bob |
