Unbolt the end of the belt and allow the belt to "reel" back in a short distance more and that will probably free it up so that you can then pull it out fully.

The driver's side seatbelt on my 84 Mondial Cab just quit working today. Seemed fine and when I got back into the car, it wouldn't unreel. Seems rock solid. Is this common? Is there a chance of an easy fix or should I just drag it to the mechanic?
