328 front wheels fit on a 308 with the following mods - new (smaller diameter) dust cover on front hubs - needs to be fabricated. Small extension to wheel hub to accomodate centre badge (also needs to be fabricated). Longer wheel bolts required - 328 wheel thicker. Rears fit straight on. |

The sticker looks like you only get one shot. It is too large to fit on just the inner lip. Is it supposed to be cut? I think I am missing something here. Does anyone have a picture to show how it goes on? Thanks in advance. (Ill have pictures up soon - car wheels are on!!!) |

The Ferrari label goes at three o'clock with the valve stem at twelve (top), on Speedline and Chromodora, with the manufacture's brand at nine o'clock, opposite. On the Campagnolo wheels, the stickers are at two and ten o'clock locations, slightly closer to valve stem. Looks like your wheels most closely resemble the Chromodoras. Sticker is on inner flange. I'll have JRV post my research photos on this. Congrats guys! Lookin' sharp!!! |

As I recall, 'Ferrari' decals were to be provided with these wheels. Could somebody tell me the correct clocking in relation to the valve stem and surface for application? (extreme outer lip or inboard lip? Thank You, DJ |

Mark, Jeff, I also live in Hawaii and would be really interested in picking up a set too. Could Randall and I save on shipping if we did 8 wheels at once? ..and can you answer Randall's question about the 328 wheels fitting on a 308? Randall, maybe we should just find a 328 owner around here.

$336 is do-able. I'd rather pick them up at the airport and save some money. It's not a far drive, but not much is. As soon as I know how the 328 wheels fit up to a 308 I can make a decision. |

Jeff H. -- Per Dave H.'s comments -- take a 308 front hub with the 308 grease cap installed and see if this fits a 328 non-abs front wheel OK or not. |

The 328 wheel may require slight modification to fit on a 308. If I ever get off my ass, and remove a wheel, I will measure the hub centers on my 328 so we can compare. My recollection is that the 328 hubs had slighly smaller wheel bearing dust caps and so the 328 wheel must be milled out slightly to fit a 308. At least that is what I recall reading somewhere.... Jeff at FerrariUK sells both wheels...maybe he might measure them for you guys? :-) |

I have the Italian Design shocks/springs with the adjustable spring perchs and will be lowering the car slightly. I hate the way stock 308's have such a large gap between the top of the tire and the fender lip. Looks too much like a cheap Ford. Where the heck are these wheels?????? This is deep into the ridiculous stage at this point. If this thing is not coming together, lets either get the $$$ back or switch the entire deal to the Ferrari UK 328 wheels. I would probably rather have then anyway. |

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm why not just switch the entire group buy to the Ferrari UK 328 wheels? Would seem they would not only be cheaper, but be original Ferrari parts and actually be available rather than the perpetual "on order".

I spoke to you on the 17th 30 mins after your secretary called me and then called her again yesterday when she had not not been informed that I spoke to you last Thursday. I am calling England almost every day and making their lives impossible for this order to go through. Shy of flying down there and casting the wheels myself, this is the best I can do. I have always been taught that stealing is ok but if you are going to do it make it worth you while; don't look like a chump for peanuts. I am not about to mess up my reputation over a few thousand bucks. With that said I thank everyone for the confidance they have shown in me and hope to deliver very soon. |

Aluminum or Magnesium? I use an old weldors trick to tell. "Tinners Fluid" is a solution used in pre soldering cleanup, and is available in most hardware stores. A drop (preferably where it will not show) will tell you immediately. With Aluminum, there is no reaction at all. Magnesium will be "eaten" with bubbleing, turning dark, etc. |

On my last order for the coolant hoses that run under the intake, my local dealer was on a one month back order and Jeff had them at my door in a few days. That's what I mean. The Ferrari UK wheels are orginal new wheels 100% exact as stock for those prices. I've had several orders to Ferrari UK and Jeff with no problems. Just had two smaller orders for pads and misc pieces and they showed up at my door 3 days later Fed Ex. Most of the prices I've compared with Ferrari UK has them at least 25% cheaper and in this case maybe more than 50%. |

From Ferrari : "The size revision, combined with softer rubber compounds, helped achieve the overall improvements which benefit the car. The wheels were traditional Ferrari five-spoked stars shaped from cast alloy, tinted a dull brass color and, in cars with ABS, given convex centers." The wheels I refered to should be the 328 NON abs wheels.

Stock 328 wheels are NOT magnesium. At least thats what the guy that repaired mine told me. He said he couldn't fix magnesium. He didn't blow up, so I guess my wheels are aluminum. |

Just to state the obvious: Some 328 16" wheels were with ABS offsets ('concave', same as Mondial 3.2) and some with non-abs offsets ('convex or dished'). Just be sure what you are ordering. best to all rt |

FWIW, I agree with Steve - the 308 QV wheels look the absolute best but are ridiculously priced (magnesium is expensive I guess??). The 328 bulges out slightly and doesn't quite look as nice. For $2300 I will put 360 wheels on my car. |

Steve The ones I quoted are the non-abs. I placed an order for them but didn't hear anything after repeated e-mails and a few months waiting for Jeff, I cancelled the order. Prior to my order, I asked Jeff about the composition of the wheels, the offsets, etc. and he replied that he had no idea and it was better to ask on Ferrarichat. |

Yes, for the 328, the orginal wheels from Ferrari UK are... 7 by 16 fronts: 150 Pounds 8 by 16 rears: 165 Pounds I haven't looked to see what the 308 wheels are, but these prices are amazing for OEM from an authorized Ferrari dealer. You'll find most of the Ferrari UK prices this good, I've bought pads, caps, and little interior pieces from them the past few weeks. Always shop around between our sponsors first. Doesn't take much additional effort and I think you'll be pleased. Ferrari UK has been entrusted by the Ferrari factory to be guardians of the marque for world-wide parts distribution for vehicles which have been out of production for ten or more years. Ferrari UK have the largest stock of parts in the world for these models and are in a unique position, being able to remanufacture Ferrari spare parts from the original drawings and specifications with the full authority of Ferrari SpA. http://www.ferrari.co.uk/classicparts/index.asp |

Nothing better than the 308QV 16" stock Magnesium alloy wheels - JMO. The 308QV 16" Reproductions are an Aluminum alloy (and have a simplified common 7" and 8" spoke configuration) so are less expensive (but heavier and less "tech"). $500 per wheel for a non-QV wheel (either 390mm or 14") is too much as they trade in the ~$1K/set used range (less if needing refinishing). I can't believe that price on the 328 wheels either, but if they're non-ABS 328 wheels I'd sure look into them if I was interested in upgrading a 308 from 390mm or 14". Can anyone confirm the material (Mag or Alum) for stock 328 non-ABS wheels and 328 ABS wheels? Did they switch to Alum on 328s? |

Are we talking about the same wheels here? What are the differences or similarities? With shipping or without? DJ |

The QV wheels are about the same aren't they? Is there anything negative about the QV wheels? How I hate shipping charges though. |

Rob -- Are you sure? I just checked the FerrariUK site, and it's 2,300 GBP (~$3,700) for a 120926/120927 308QV 16" set. |

I'd probably have to pay 2-300 for shipping..... sometimes being in Hawaii isn't that great. |

Rob the prices from Ferrari UK translate to over $2300 a set before shipping, duties or taxes. The group buy price was $1350 with no duties or taxes and no one paid more than $95 for shipping. |

If you want actual orginals for about the same price look at the prices our sponsor Ferrari UK has. I couldn't believe how good their prices were. |

Everyone got in on the group buy and we are waiting to hear from the supplier any day now as the wheels were backordered. All of the members of the group buy have behaved very well and I have ensured that there is no more than a 24hour turnaround time for each person's shippment to go out. A big thank you to all of the participants and we are almost there!!!!!! |
