I've got a hot surge problem with my 1985 308 QV. When cold and through most of the warmup the engine is steady and powerful. When it reaches hot (about 10min./miles) it surges at idle and through most of the throttle movement. It is most promounced on part throttle. It doesn't seem to be lack of fuel-it runs at full power to 7500 rpm just prior to the start of the surging. The cold start injector doesn't seem to leak and I just put new plugs/extenders, checked wires, coils, and distributors, so I don't think it is electrical. I even reset the throttle position sensor. I was wondering if anybody out there has ran into similer problems. I think it might be the control pressure regulator or the accumulator valve. I have yet to find a suitable gauge in my collection to check pressures. It also is very slow to start when hot, even though there is serious pressure left in the system after 15 minutes, checked by loosening a fuel line. Later this week I'm going to borrow a friends dwell meter to check the Lambda circuit (O2 sensor operation). Any other help/opinions would be greatly appreciated. I gotta pass emissions here in MD and don't want to look stupid on the dyno. |
