Did I hear something about Porsche 928 blower motors? Check the archives... It might have been the A/C blower motor they were talking about... Other than that, I'm not sure what you could do to get more flow. I had to put hose clamps at all four junctions of hose/blower/heater box. Also, make sure that your vent cabling is working correctly. Also, there are vent outlets in the footwell areas that you could close to affect more air flow out of the main vents. --Mike |

I just bought a used one for $120. I was wondering if there was an aftermarket that could be stuffed in there that might provide a lot more air flow? |

I had to repair the ear on my LH blower motor, too. (Super glue didn't work.) I drilled into the plastic housing and attached a firm metal brace, 3/4" by 2" say. The brace had room on the "inside" part for a screw into the unit and then the main screw that held the motor on originally. It's now held in pretty good. We'll see how it does in the long term. A bolt would have been better... Even if the fuse is good, there's no guarantee that current is flowing THROUGH the fuse--check the contacts at the fusebox, etc. Jack up the car, remove the wheel, and open the access panel on the appropriate site (four screws + washers). Easy access. You'll clearly see the two wires that connect to the blower motor via two female spade connectors. Disconnect, turn on the power, and test the leads with a voltmeter... You're hoping that you DON'T get current... Cleaning/repairing fusebox will be better than replacing a blower motor. Have seen the blowers sold on eBay. Other than that, if the motor is bad... I would recommend T. Rutlands (www.trutlands.com) as an easy way to get them replaced. In the winter time, I use the motors a lot--they're an important part to the car and I'd say "chase this one down." --Mike |

Usually they break off at the "ears" and fall down into the fender of the car. Your's may have done this too and just unplugged itself or pulled the wires out. I have an extra for the passenger side that I repaired if anyone is interested. The fan always worked. I had to repair the broken ear. |
