imposter,

Apparently you don't have the stuff it takes to come out of the closet.

Understandble....as the way you chose to play this game exposed many of your weakness's....certianly not all I'm sure. But enough none the less, a lack of morals, values and especially character. Couple those with some deep seated resentments and jealousy and your total confusion or delusion about what it takes for the cream to rise to the top and it's not a pretty mix is it.

Did you underestimate me or seriously over estimate yourself. I suspect both.

Yes I've spent a good portion of my life observing standards, studying standards, understanding standards and then living up to those standards. It's called building character and adhereing to values, something you have completely discounted and chosen to sneer at. Seems you have missed so many of the basics in life one must develop before ascending to the next plataue of wisdom, success and self worth.

My advice to you...pick a different set of heros to emulate before you wake up one day and find the clock has run out on you, and that instead of investing your time wisely becoming the best you can be, you've wasted your time trying to tear down and resenting those that did.

Thanks to all the guys that stepped up with positive comments. Truly appreciated.

And Allen, I'm sorry imposter tried to minimulize you and the fact you and your Ferrari made it into Cavalino Magazine...maybe he has the cover car?

Well JRV, I'm sorry he wasn't impressed by a real person, with a real name. I guess we'll have to let Big George pound on him or something to get an impression. Or we could show him the shop visit from the 25th Anniversary "Pet"!
Back to the topic guys!! Fix those neglected cars!
I'm glad he lit that candle though, the air in here could use it!!!

Believe it or not I have to agree with JRV on this imposter crap. While I have had a little fun ribbing JRV regarding his claim to perfection, I have not hid behind a false name. If you want to be heard, identify yourself.

To the real JRV,
I have read many of your post and say that you have been very helpful and kind and have shown some great Ferrari technical knowledge.

To the imitation JRV,
I agree with some of our other co-members that you should not hide behind an alias.

If this thread and challenge was in jest of April first, good one!

And he was correct.

Hey imposter...you should change your handle to spineless jellyfish....or at least be pracrticing the proper way to tighten a hose clamp instead of spending time on the internet.

And how wrong you are...you stated 'one post' from someone that has used my services...and within 2 hours or so you had exactly what you requested..one post...so I not only DELIVERED...but I delivered in Spades far more than a loser like yourself deserves.

And I'm waiting for you to meet the Challenge you've been presented!!! Tick Tock Sport...the clock is ticking to see just what type of gutless lowlife you are !!!

YOUR REAL NAME SPORT!!!!

Got any sack ??? I suspect you're just another gutless loser actually!!!

I agree Tom.

JRV and I had a very public and sorted past. We have mended fences and are working for the better good of all.

I can verify that JRV is a man of his word and his knowledge of Ferrari's is outstanding.

If you are going to accuse JRV of bad business without proof. Please stop wasting our time. Make yourself know.

drum roll........................................

.............and 24 hours later....

Well champ, I suppose that's the best you're going to be able to come up with.

I'm not overly impressed with either post, and the second post, which you posted yourself (albeit cut and pasted from an email sent to you ) is weak.
(try and follow directions next time.)

Although the task was a simple one, nonetheless sport, you passed. Barely, but you passed. Congratulations !

Give yourself the pat on the back you deserve, as you can now begin to feel better about yourself and grow your self esteem. (you need to start somewhere)

in closing , from the bible, gospel according to jrv 14:8 = "for it is after spending your lifeth, creating high standards, can you then see high standards created. For it is the high standards of standards, that the standards of high standards are standardized. When one dedicates his life to standards for which one has created for himself, only then can one consistently acheive the high standards he has set for himself, thereby always scoring high standards for which no one else can judge him by, thereby maintaining your own little world of high standards for which you, and only you, think, are high standards."

and from jrv 13:11 = "for who cares that others may also do quality work, thou shall not put strange gods before me, for I am the king, in my own little mind of standards, in my own little joke lambo talk dot com site"

I will light a candle now.

>>>JRV: It's probably Eugenio come back to haunt you. <<

Whoever it is sure is showing me a thing or two, that's for sure!

imposter...looks like I was under your " 24 hour deadline" by about 22 hours...but you really had me worried for a minute or two.

frank...i'm pretty sure the BBB has a 1-800 number..or you can use 10-10-220...20 cents for the first twenty minutes....

In case you can't afford the call...I'll go ahead and set you striaght...a couple of months ago the BBB actually called me and wanted me to join the BBB Platinum (or gold) Club...which is a special group they have of companies that have had "ZERO COMPLAINTS" in the last 5 or 10 yrs. This group IS BY INVITATION ONLY and is part of a BBB refferal service. I declined to join because of the niche market I fit into. But by all means give them a call and find out for yourself!

If the flamers will slither away for awhile, back on topic.

The Big Services are Big Work.

It's advisable for your long term pleasure of ownership and to protect the cars value to do the services properlly and have the best proffesionals performing the work. I abhor ripoff shops....which can come from either the high or low end of the spectrum...but true proffesionals that stick to the highest quality standards and stand behind their work like I do will not grovell to work on someones Ferrari.

J.R.,

Hope things are going well. We had our baby!! She and Kathy are doing great.

I wanted to drop you a note to see if you have had any bites on our Ferrari. I hope you can find it a good home. I took it out about 1 month ago and it ran great. The switch for the passenger electric window is broken. I removed it and used the switch for the drivers side to get the window down. Can you order me a new switch? If you can please do and I'll come by and get it when it gets in. If you need me to pay you first just let me know. Thanks again for all your work on our car. It has never run better.

Thanks,
Chuck

Wow!, I'm glad I finished wrestling with the IRS so I could enter this fray.
I don't say much on here 'cause ya'll are so fun to watch. JRV has taken care of my '77 308GTB ever since I purchased it five years ago. We've done all the defered service and "home repairs" of the past 22 years of previous owner's. A daily driver in the heat and dangers of Houston traffic, it runs as Enzo intended!!!!!
His honesty and straight forward approach to these specialized vehicles is refreshing in a world where everyone's out for themselves.
My car has been alongside MUCH more exotic Ferraris and Lambos belonging to owner's here that you would know, but keep a low profile.
They know and trust JRV with major investments, knowing his skills.
I cannot recap here all the specialized modifications and restorations he has done, but check out www.pinnaclemotorsports.com.
No doubt, brother, he's the real deal!!!
I won't answer the phone, so don't call.
My car is on the Ferrari308.com site, and was shown in Lettere of Cavallino Magazine #133.

Just drive 'em!!

Who are you Jrvisking ? A better one would be for either JRV to post a copy of his Better Business Bureau complaint log for the last year or a list of the defective parts he has had to exchange in the last year. JRV may be a fine mechanic, but I find it hard to believe that he has NEVER installed a part that was later found to be defective or had a SINGLE car returned to him after a repair or service that needed some type of additional attention. He seems to claim that he is ALWAYS at his best. But, remember in all endeavers, only the mediocre are ALWAYS at their best because the exceptional have both good and bad performances.

SIMPLE CHALLENGE FOR JRV

Let's give JRV a simple task.

The Challenge is:

JRV has 24 hours to produce a verifiable reference and testimonial "on this board" of
someone who has used his service with satisfaction.

That person is to post it himself, and give his name, email, and phone number.

Simple as that.

Just one testimonial, only one, only one is needed !!!!
Ya think ya can do that sport?
We'll be waiting...

Clock is ticking.

JRV, you're a card ! That's why you do road test in the first place is to be sure everything is up to spec before delivering it to the customer. I am very satisfied with the work done by Ferrari of Atlanta and highly recommend them. And I'm hard to please; remember my prior problem with another dealer regarding my leaking cam seals on my 348 ? Yes, a hose clamp did fail on the road test after my BB512i service, but all was repaired with no questions asked and I was told without even asking. They could have just repaired the problem without ever telling me and I would have never known. What more can a customer ask? I'm happy as a pig in slop. Why are you so sad JRV ? I suspect the car owners that have had their cars serviced by you are not so happy and that makes you sad. Perk up, all will be better, you're mother still loves you.

When I bought my 348 challenge it was due a cambelt service and had not been run much in while, the dealer I bought it from was 300 or so miles from home so I did not want to drive it home is said state. I had it trucked to the dealer near me, engine out major service (not water pump as car only had 18k miles on) new clutch complete, various seals, tubi, tracker, alarm for 5600 (+- $8500)

A bit more than I had bargained for, but the sound alone was well worth it.

Its going for its annual next month and an MOT (annual road worthy) and its going to be around 560 ($890)

Sorry to differ, but there's no way you'll get a 30k service done for "well" less than $5k from an authorized dealer. Ferrari of Denver includes a 1 year warranty with the 30k service if anything should fail with the 30k service. The warranty alone is worth the extra bucks you might think you're shelling out for the service.

>>You can negotiate a better deal. I just had a major done at a Ferrari dealer on my 1982 BB512i.<<

and then it crapped out on the first road test after only a few blocks...then got whacked causing paint damage being towed back...with a rope no less...ohhhh yea...negotiate a Frank Deal...

and after you get them beat down to rock bottom you to can buy a Rabbits Foot Key Chain for luck.

You can negotiate a better deal. I just had a major done at a Ferrari dealer on my 1982 BB512i. While the compete service was less than $5,000.00, I did have some add-ons such as a new harmonic balancer, water pump rebuild, new oil sending unit, R&R of my intake runners and plenums for refinishing with new gaskets, new main seals and a few more items. But the total price was still less than $7400.00. And thats for a 22 year old 12 cylinder. Negotiate a fixed labor cost plus parts. You should be able to have it done fot well less than $5,000.00 for a V8 car.

Welcome Larry:

The 30k service will be from 4 to 6k depending on who does it. However, I've not heard of one that didn't have another 2, 3, 4k added to it, for other items which need replacing. The water pump usually gets replaced, and its 1000.00. Do your research in your area about who does good work, and who is reasonable in their charges.

Larry,
if you give more specifics and especially your local somebody can stir you in the right direction.

Welcome as well.

Also certain things you should think about if you want to keep your car for a while. Waterpump being one! The wheel in the pump is plastic and with the heat cycle falls apart. Also an engine out service.
