Sounds like someone has "modified" yours. The parts book is correct. The battery sits right on the metal bottom. No pads or mats.

The battery bracket assembly on my '84' 308qv has a different set up than shown in the parts book diagram shows. It has a contoured hard rubber piece (about 1" high x 3" long) that sits on top of bracket and a 2" bolt/washer that runs through it, and the bracket, and screws into the frame. Is this a mickey mouse setup or did Ferrari change this with 'newer' 308's?

The parts book diagram shows a washer and nut holding down the bracket to what must be a fixed stud sticking up from frame?

Also..is there supposed to be a rubber coating or mat on the surface where the battery sits?

feedback appreciated.
