Tommy, do you have Matt taken care of?

Todd, If Tommy has Matt covered, that makes this order full. If not, perhaps Tommy can help with shipping.

I'm still unclear if I'm in on this buy. I would like to be after some clarification. 1) How will I arrange shipping to my home from DFW with the re-packing etc... and 2) How much will the cost of this additional shipping be? Who should I talk to?

Hi All,

At the moment we have four confirmed for this batch: Carmine, Tommy, Steve and Ric so there is a fifth place available. Do one of you guys want to contact Todd to let him know how it works after the glass gets to Texas?

Todd,

I think we have all five for this batch, but the deal is not closed.

Jeff has everyone contacted you?

Todd, you will need to arrange shipment for the glass from DFW to Seattle.

My '77 308 windshield has "metal to glass" scratches from a bad set of wiper blades. Can these scratches be buffed or removed? If not, how about shipping one of these 5 windshields to Seattle? I might be your 5th buyer, but how would this work again?

Thanks for the details Carmine. Tommy too has paid up and I've heard from Steve. So we need to hear from Ric and then one more to make the deal a goer.

Cheers all.

Would the person (Tommy?) who the windshields are going to be shipped to please contact me? I'm wondering what the plans are for taking the pieces NOT ending up in Dallas and shipping them out to other parts of the country will be. I assume these will be packed altogether, and then those not staying in Dallas will have to be repacked individually.

Whose gonna take the ball on that so I can talk with you?

You can email me at [email protected] or call my cell this weekend (540) 455-8255 since I'll be in Carlisle at the big car show.

Thanks!

Hi all.

I've spoken to Tommy just now - he's in Italy and drinking red wine and looking at girls !!

He has given me his credit card details for his windshield so he is now cool.

We just need 4 more pieces then we're in business.

If there isn't a fifth person volunteering to fill out the purchase, I'd consider buying the fifth with the intent of Ebaying it. If that is considered ok with the populace here, I would agree to funnel a portion of the proceeds to Rob Lay for providing this forum if you'd like Rob.

But I don't want to look like I'm trying to skim.

I'll defer to Rob and anyone else to comment on my participating in the order for this reason. Of course, if a fifth person does NEED one here, I would defer the order to them until the point I give Jeff my credit card #! :-)

Hi all.

I have spoken to the windshield shippers and they are willing to ship the 5 pieces to Plano, TX 75074, at the same cost.

So it's 420.59 each piece, currently $662.

Are we cool ?

Thanks.

Hi all.

We have the windshield, 63229600 which is about $1035. We could include one and take out a 308 piece so long as the actual dimensions are OK.

If the price hasn't frightened Mikehuber (!) I can see what the size is...?

Nice Easter weekend everyone ?

Don't mean to throw a wrench into the mix...but Is either a 308 or 328 the same as an 85 Mondial 3.2 Cab? If so I would be interested in taking the last spot. Need to get it from DFW to Cincinnati. I'll figure that part out later.

It looks like we are all talk here and no action. Jeff is giving us the BEST price and we are stalling. From all the responses it appears that a load could go on the west coast and a partial in the N. East. If anybody wants a windshield in the tri-state area I will be more than happy to receive them in N.Y or Central Jersey. You will have to pick-up. If this is not the case I will be more than happy to pick-up myself from your location. Alternative. I could have my co workers in the LA area or Dallas pick-up and ship to me in the east.
Any thoughts ??

Hi all.

I'm guessing we can take out a regular 308 screen and put in a GT4 one in its place. The GT4 piece is $1045. We don't want to ship more than 5 pieces at a time as the bigger the crate, the more chance of it getting thrown around; believe it or not !

As for 355 and 348 etc, we cannot sell anything for those cars thru this website. We are only allowed to sell parts for cars that have been out of production for 10 years or longer. Sorry.

We can send this hyperthetical crate of glass anywhere; I just used a NY zipcode as that's what I had from one of you guys. If it would be earier to another destination let me know and I'll get the shipping quote tweaked.

Whatever you want, let me know.

My brother can help you out with shipping, it is their business. If you had them shipped to him directly, he can repackage and then ship to each of you. I am travelling so I can't watch this thread much but give him a buzz at 724.251.0269 and ask for Paul.

Tommy,
Go to a local windshield installer. There are cardboard boxes that are designed for windshield shippment. Most shipping companies know them very well. Insure the windshield when shipping or you will be screwed!

My only concern is distribution to the rest of the members. Upon arrival these have to be inspected re-packaged and ship out again. We are dealing with glass.
