Randall,

Sounds about right, Nick at forza I think gets close to $800 for his, but heard froma reecent purchaser that hte mounting points were about 1/4 " off and caused this guy a huge hassle had no room for the a/c condensor and then had to take the rad to a shop to have it refitted and they laughed at this crazy Ferrari guy paying big for this aluminum rad that they said any shop could make up for about $400 or so.

Looking to quash any and all overheating issues for thsi summer ( new fans, hoses, etc going in as well)

I just spoke with them and was told it would probably be a minimum of $500. They also said that if I get all the dimensions and how it mounts and fax it over to them, they might have something that is already made that can be used for a core, and that would drop the cost. I'll get the measurements tomorrow and get back to them.

Is there any changes that people would reccommend? Or just have one built to the exact same sizes?

Evans is a company that makes aluminum radiators. I'll talk to them Monday and post whatever I hear from them. The make their own coolant too, designed to have no water at all. I've read that it's good stuff from some people on here, but have no experience myself.
This is their site:

In the email I sent them I said there may be several people interested, so maybe if several are bought it would lower prices a little.

I was thinking about a recore having the shop reuse the Ferrari tanks, but a few mercedes guys that have had thsi done are constantly plagued by constant little leaks etc. (yes there are bad shops out there) so if you know the name of the Lynbrook (LI I presume) shop let em know...also Randall...who is "Evans"?

I had a re-core done a few years ago on a 308 I used to own and it worked like a charm but be sure to take Paul's advice about the correct paint.

Sam, if you are looking for better cooling why not just send out your current rad to a shop and have them put in a core with an additional row...this is real easy for a radiator shop...the shop I used was in Lynbrook not to far from the city...the only thing I will say about rad shops is that they paint all recores/repairs with a real shitty gloss black paint...you'll have to ask them not to paint it and do it yourself with the correct matt black.

I'm going to call Evans on Monday and speak with them. I've been in email contact, and they said I'd have to send in mine so they could make one, but I haven't been quoted a price yet.

curious, I am looking for better cooling not really race or weight loss. I know nick sells one but it is close to $800 and heard it really does not fit so well....anyone have any experience pro/con..heard any local rad shop can quickly make one up for about 300.
