Charles G. -- two comments: 1. Why so small on the rears? (I've never liked having the rear tire diameter smaller than the front tire) -- wouldn't 245/50-16 be OK as well? 2. On the front camber issue, I think sometimes the factory tends towards the "+" camber side of things to intentionally induce more understeer for us novice pilota. I ran -1.5 deg at the front on my ex-308. JMHOs PS Robert M. -- shouldn't that be 225/60-16 on the rear? -- 255/60-16 are quite a bit taller than ~24.5" |

I have decided to go with 225/50 and 245/45 S-03's. I will let you know how they do. I won't have any frame of reference, since I'm not going to drive the car fast on the old tires. But I'll give you my impression. I will also have the alinement checked. Factory spec's for the front are camber -0 deg 10 min to -0 deg 30min with 2 to 3 mm toe in.This seems like to little camber to me. Does anybody have any experience with non-factory settings? |

I think 225 and 245/255 is the way I'm going next time. Also, I have the Yoko AVS Sports on my BMW and I think they are an awesome performance tire for the price. 180 tread rating. Rears on my BMW last about 12-15k miles and that's hard driving and some autocrosses. Fronts are 25k and still going strong. No one but the club racers will support me on this, but if you never drive your car in the rain, then shave them down to 1/4 an inch or so. TireRack.com will do this and they also have great prices. |

Charles, I recently had Ferrari of Dallas install a set of Bridgeston Expedia S-01 on my 328 and they are very nice with a straight side wall. The specs are; Front-205/55/ZR16-8 1/2" wide and 24 1/2 tall Rear-255/50/ZR16-9 1/2 wide and 24 1/2 tall also I wanted a tire that had the straighter side wall and was not so much rounded as many of them are now. They handle great and are very quiet with no road noise. The profile is a small amount less than the factory tires and they look extremely nice. I hope this helps. Good Luck Robert |

I have 225/50-16 and 245/45-16 Yokohama AVS-sport on my 328. 225 and 245 are recommended for 7" and 8" wheels respectively. The speedo works fine. Ciao Peter |

Try the new Bridgestone S03 Pole Positions and tell us how they work or use the tried & true Pirelli P Zeros |

I have just purchased a 1988 328 GTS. This is my first post. The car is in great condition, with only 5100 miles. It still has its original tires! They look good but have to be degraded by time. What are your suggestions for new tires? I was thinking of going a little wider, maybe 215's and 245's, but I don't want to mess up final gearing and speedo or rub. Do 328's benifit from wider tires? Also what is a good brand now? |
