Thanks for all the help. Contacted Ben Millermon about his system. He said he is swamped with requests and is about a mounth or so from taking any new orders. A tune-up needs to be done before the end of the month for an emissions test. Ordered 2 distributors from Evans @ $199 ea. Will look into Bens system later this year. It seems the way to go in the long run. Thanks again. John |

Mark, the 2valve cars can be retrofitted to accept the rotors from a QV or carbed car. It does reqire removal of the cam to changed the attachment point for the rotor |

Go Millermon with MSD. You get unrestriced timing adjustability, dirt cheap replacement parts, TONS more powerful spark, does not require drastic modifications to the car (can be put back to factory stock very quickly, is easier to tune and will run much better. All for about the same cost as 1 full rebuild / tune of the factory system. |

FWIW FChat guy Ben Millermon sells a single distributor conversion using an optical pickup and $10 cap for the 308 for about the same price as two OE Marrelli caps. Search for 'Milllermon single distributor'. That's what I'm doing. best rt |

Thanks for the replies. Luckily, it's an 85 QV and the caps are still available. Checked into direct fire (up to $1500) a little too much right now. A few more ignition problems and the change might be in order. Looking at the old caps, it looks like there could be away to just change out the contact/set screw assemblies. Oh well. |

The center carbon that contacts the rotor is available seperatley; if your caps are cracked or the electrodes are worn/grooved from rotor arc, probably not much you can do. If you have a 2V injected car and your distributor rotors go bad your driving days are over (unless you do a direct fire ignition conversion). |
