On my 1978 GTS it runs down the center of the car in the 'tunnel' if memory serves me. DJ

Bill V. - That's a great question. I've been under my car (on a lift) 100 times, and when I read your question, I'm trying to remember where the positive starter cable runs. Can't remember! All of my mid-engine F-cars have the same issue; Dino, Boxer, Testarossa. Boy, I can't picture where that cable runs. I suspect it is through its own tube between the floor board and the bottom pan. Good luck and let us know where you find it. Jim S. |

Does anyone else know how this cable is routed through the car? |

Bill, Not sure how it runs exactly. My guess is underneath the car in some tunnel to insure safety as this is the positive lead. As for the engine bay, a most humble thanks though the previous owner Jeff Edison also should receive credit. The front of the car is getting the same treatment by me. 53k miles and climbing as she is my daily driver. Of course in the end what REALLY matters is that YOU... Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin PS: if the original lead is there, just unhook the battery side FIRST and then the starter side, tape end of new cable to end of old cable and fish it all through. Hope this helps.

Thank you , Steve. Do you know how the cable is run though--ie, through th rocker panel, along the frame, etc? By the way, that's about the cleanest QV engine/compartment I've ever seen-good job! |

Bill, Due to the photo size limitations of this message board, have decided to set a space aside on one of my servers... For complete electrical diagram from the 308 Quattrovalvole Spare Parts Catalogue data sheet TAV. 114 dated Marzo 1985, please see: http://www.enjoythemusic.com/temp/308electrical.gif The positive terminal goes from the battery terminal itself at the front of the car to the starter motor located at the rear of the car. This can be seen on TAV. 39 also dated Marzo 1985. Always glad to be of service. Enjoy the Drive, Steven R. Rochlin

Where does the positive battery cable on 308qv's and 328's originate from and how is it routed in the car? |
