BYW This thread, which you started http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/216754.html?1047486616 , A 12mm allan key was recommended. One month of Ferrari ownership and you already are a prick. See if you get any advice or help from me in the future.

I use the drive up ramps for my 328. I like it and there's plentry of room. Takes too long for 4 jack stands and I trust the ramps more than having all the weight on four stands. Who knows if the ramps work well for the 355. |

I thought most 3 series had the same oil drain plub size......mine is 14mm...as is Bills........mines on a 348 though.....sears doesn't make a 14mm hex, ratchet drive...snap on.....interesting though between the mm sizes on different cars......mines never been stripped, repaired or helicoiled.hmmmmmmmmmmmm |

Frank, The regular key is better IMHO I use 4 matching height jackstands. I think they are better and are more controlable then the ramps and can slide. M |

OK - Thanks everyone. Tom - thanks for the excellent narative. Went to Sears for the hex - did not have the socket type, so had to get a regular one. Too late to start the project now...will jump to step 8 and have that beer now
BTW - How do you guys feel about those plastic drive up ramps in lieu of jacking up the car. I was looking at some and they only seem to elevate the car about 6"...and will the nose of the car hit the ground when you back up into them. Anybody have experience with them?

hear goes... 1.jack up car and support on jack stands. 2.remove both air diffusers. 3.remove large panel that covers the belts and and part of the front section of the oil pan. 4.using a 12mm hex socket undo the oil drain plug. Do not try to undo the large nut on the bottom of the pan. This is not the drain. the pan is stamped were the oil is to be drained from. 5. On the right hand side of the car were the oil tank is there is a 22mm nut on the bottom of the tank. To make it easier disconnect the oil temp sensor wire and move it out of the way. Undo the nut and allow the tank to drain.(this can be very messy so be prepared and have lots of rags with you). 6. Once all the oil is drained out of the engine and oil tank, put the plugs back in and lower the car back on it's wheels. 7. Fill the oil tank with approx 8 liters of oil then start the car. Let the car idle until it's up to temp, and add the rest of the oil as you would normally and check level. 8. And you done. Go have a beer |

Frank. Engine oil is 12mm and trans oil is 10mm The plug should be on the pass side, front of the engine. It is not a downward facing plug. it faces the front of the car |

Oil Tank Drain Pulg. Is the hex wrench for the oil drian plug 12MM on a 355? Did a search and thats the size on a 308, I assume 355 same size? Can someone confirm. Also - the second Sump drain plug...where is it? Owners manual shows a poor picture and I don't see it in the parts book, unless it's 10300711. If so, how to you get to it? Do you have to pull the air skirts just in front of the difusers? Thanks - Frank
