Just another note, not sure about the DCNF's but the DCOE's are designed to be rejetted with the carburetor on the car and without draining the fuel from the carbs. The venturies pop in and out too. Designed to be reconfigured on the spot, at the track if necessary. DJ |

I don't have my book here but I have three DCOE 40 Webers on my 240 which are side draft two barrel carbs. The letters stand for the configuration of the carb, the type of body and in some cases application in the form of dash numbers after the base number. D= Doppio, C= Corpio = Dual Body. The 'O' in my case is 'Orizontale' (spelling) = Horizontal (Side draft). The 'E', if I remember correctly , means that the carburetor body is cast aluminum. So DCNF would be 'Dual body with the N or F standing for vertical or down draft. In the case if the IDF, I believe the designation denotes a dual body, down draft with the float bowl between the Carburetor throats. A WIDE spread between venturies. Unfortunately the designation codes for Weber carburetors are neither consistant or predictable from one type to the next. The same goes for jet and emulsion tube numbering, especially emulsion tubes and air correction jets. According to the Weber book I have, the basic set up and jetting for my DCOE's are consistant with carbs used on the larger Alfa engines. This is all from memory so I am sure there are some inaccuracies. I strongly recommend getting 'The Weber Book'. It has taken alot of the mystery out of these carburetors for me and allowed me to teach myself how to rebuild my set for my 240. Hope this helps, DJ |
