Tom By definition, most any issue with a Mondial is electrical - if I had a flat tire I would get out and check the fuse box first. Would bet a coke your problem is at the fusebox. Well, the fuse box had been upgraded by the later models but a few early ones had the old style. Look at your fuse box - the new style has the squarish multicolored 'blade' type fuses woth the metal section visible inside the plastic and the value readable on the top. The old style has the cylindrical fuses with cone type connectors at either end. If old stle, would look at re-seating the fuses and cleaning the contact areas. Would also re-seat the relays, or possible empirically replace. Take the relay to a parts house or get the bosch # off of it - much cheaper than silly Ferrari. If new style a possibility is the main connector into the fusebox - a particularly poorly designed POS - prone to failure, loose connections and overheating from poor connections.
Would remove and inspect this connector, looking to see if all the connector pieces look like they are clean and tight - then solidly re-seat. A popular thing to do with many is to then put a drop of Stabilant-22 (do search or available at NAPA) on the connectors to somehow chemically help the connectors. A little long winded, but hope this gets you started. Let me know what turns out as I learn something new everyday. Hope this helps Russ |

I took a look in the archives and most of fuse panel problems relate to the QV or prior fuse boxes. I think the 3.2 has the upgraded one but I could be wrong. Here is the issue. Occasionally when I am driving the radio will cut off, at the same time the windows cannot operate, if the lights are on they will go off but the buckets will not go down, the turn signal will still operate though. It happens primarily if I hit a bump but not always, it will usually only last a few seconds though yesterday it lasted a minute or so. Is this a ground issue or is one part of the fuse box going on me. BTW no issue with the fuel pump or electronics running of the engine yet I might add occassionally the neg cable on the battery loses contact on me but I would think with the alt running this would not effect anything |
