I had my local store (Dupont) mix some for me and put it up in spray cans. (I get BIG scratches sometimes) Cost was about $20 per can but that's a normal size can like Krylon or something. BTW, they used a color scanner to get the mix. Our dealer in Houston has a bad ass new body shop, and when they showed me the color match system, it had the benefit of being computer controlled in the mixing but also used an optical scanner. Giallo is the best!!!!!! |

Wide World of Cars in NY can mix the paint given the paint code from the trunk. I think it is about $20 and their shipping is fast and reasonbable. I haven't tried the paint to see how good of a match it is, but I trust a Ferrari dealer more than Sherwin Williams. Their number is (845)425-2600. I spoke to another Ferrari dealer that recommended I contact a paint store to have them mix the paint -- so apparently not all Ferrari dealers offer this. I believe WWoC does some pretty high-end restorations, so it seems to be a pretty safe bet. |

Frank is right...chances are it will not be a good match. Last summer, I had a couple of tiny chips touched up on the 308. Went to a nearby automotive paint / body supply company (Mattos Pro Finishes -- http://profinishes.com/Start_pg.htm.htm) and had them scan the paint with one of those handheld portable electronic paint scanners "thingies" around the area to be touched up. They then mixed me about a quart of paint to match -- it was a near perfect match. Only cost me about $15.00 for the paint. The employees there were excited to see a Ferrari, and spent a good 1/2 hour showing / talking about the car -- it made their day and mine. Had them mix some for my little MGB too on another occasion. Can't remember if it was 2-stage paint or not...do remember that it was a metallic-type color. Had the guy who details my cars apply the touch up, so not sure the method he used to apply it...or whether he finished it off with clear or not. The yellow touch up that I bought from Ferrari Parts Exchange was used to touch up a small chip in the front nose emblem. The yellow was a slightly different shade than the rest of the emblem, but it was only noticeable up close. In the end, I just purchased a brand new original emblem from Jeff at FerrariUK and installed it. |

The best thing to do is to go to a good paint and body man or a PPG or Glasurit dealer, depending on your car, and have them mix you up a little to exactly match your car. Even the proper coded paint you buy from Ferrari doesn't always exactly match your car due to the many variables in application and degree of fading. |

Bill My dealer gave me a free sample of the matched paint code when I called up & asked. Enough for touch ups Philip |
