This is what my 348 was doing and it ended up being the ignition module wiring. I have seen this happen on Small blocks I have rebuild. Lots of times as coils go bad they progressivly drop the RPMs at which they can make a strong enough spark to ignite the fuel. I would start by finding out which bank is back firing and then swap coils from side to side to see if it moves with the coil. |

Before the problem was at 6500 rpm, two weeks later 5000 RPM and now 4000 RPM. It seem like i had only 4 cylinders. The cars run very fine (with power) from idle to 4K. When i kick off i hear an backfiring in the exhaust. The fuel pump it's good with 1l/30s 2 Fuel filters ok WUR ok spark plugs ok Rotors ok (no burned, no oil) No vacum leak without exhaust same problem It's possible that an coil can to cut ignition from 4k ? I need help please.... Thanks for your advices. |
