I called Geoff @ Partsource. No Baldwin filter replacement exists for the 512TR and, due to the relatively small mumbers of these vehicles built, none ever will be manufactured. We are stuck with UFI. |

Matt: You wrote "They only make them for these models 308GTB; 308GTS 328TB/TS 348TB, TS 360 Modena 360 Spider 456 GT 512TR" I cannot find any cross reference to the 512TR. If it's not too much trouble could you give me the Baldwin part number for a 512TR. Thanks

Read the other specs Matt, they're the same (except for the stand-pipe). |

Hank My '81 512 currently has B253 on it (just checked). They were put on when Norwoods did the rebuild. My car doesn't have a drip of oil anywhere. |

Don't forget the Baldwin B252, which is the same as the 253, WITHOUT the stand-pipe for normal, open-end-up installations. I know the 365 Boxer uses the Fram PH2804 filters - which are the same used on other Ferrari engines - so the B252's will work on THIS car. Now, does the 512 BBi use PH2804's???

Matt: I searched both, with no results for the Boxer. However, since the Boxer was never imported as a US model, it may not be on all the lists of applications. If i have to buy the original, then $18.00 is not too bad. |

Henry, you are right BUT, when you check the Fram site for direct application, They do not list the 512 bbi. Matt |

Doug: That is interesting. If this is accurate, then a Fram PH2804-1, per the Don, should also work......am I right? |

Doug, I was told by balwin that they do not recommend the B253 for the 512 bbi. Something about the seal being slightly off Matt |

Henry In a previous post, someone mentioned that they used the Baldwin 253's for the last 20 years. I just ordered some the other week for my bb512. |

http://www.reoriginals.com/ Click on Ferrari and then 365/512 bbi Number is on the main page. Sucks have a rare car that was never imported by Ferrari directly into the US huh? |

I bought the car last summer. It had the major service done, with all Ferrari parts, so I am assuming that it has the Ferrari filters in it. I did not raise the car to check. I know Baldwin filters are reasonable in price, so I just wanted to get a couple for when I change athe oil.

Then, it appears that I am out of luck. I am not sure what the Fram filter would be for the Boxer. |

The B253 however, will work in the place of the Fram ph2804-1 so the B253's will work on the older cars such as the Daytona's and the like. |

Anyone know the correct Baldwin oil filter for an 83 512 BBi? I tried the search, but got info only on the 3xx series. There are two, with the holes facing upwards. Thanks. |
