I was thinking of replacing my stock TR muffler, and heard both the Borla and Tubi today at Old Westbury on TR's. The borla sounds great, but it looks so bad in the TR. There is nothing bhind the grill to show off. It sits soooo low behind the bumper. The Tubi sounded great also, but looked much better. I am not sure of the price diff, I know 3,500 for the tubi no clue on the Borla.

I bought a Borla from Nick along with the spiral packs and there is nothing that can touch it for sound, performance enhancement and build quailty.

Tubi is overpriced and cheap in the quailty dept.and Ansa is not today what it was 25 years ago.

Hi Guys,

I have read some ads of F355's which said that they were equipped with the actual F355 Challenge exhaust systems. Were would I be able to get a hold of these and how to they compare with a Tubi system?

Ps. Great picture David!

Hi Michael,
Tubi, Borla, Ansa, any would be a great upgrade from the stock muffler.
Stainless steel will last longer and hold up better to heat than the stock muffler...

I have a Tubi on my 77 non-cat 308 and I love it.
But the prestine stainless can discolor from heat a bit over time.
And one thing to remember is that sweet sound carries quite a distance.

I have been told by my kids that they can hear the car coming 2 blocks away.
And by neighbors 2 blocks away that they can hear me start my car...
So as long as your ok with killing all small critters within a 2 block radius of your moving car, then I say.... Welcome to the club. :)

HI.As far as loudness goes in this order from loudest to the quietest Borla,Tubi and ANSA the same goes for performance flow figures. If you find that your exhaust is still too loud after your purchase,we offer a spiral pack test pipes for the 2 valve and 1983 4 valve 308 series cars that will lower the db's WITHOUT LOWERING THE FLOW! They fit where your cat cons would normally go.You also may wanna find someone who sells all the major brands of aftermarket exhausts for Ferrari so you will get a honest opinion on what the best exhaust would be for your own type of driving style, and year of car.Nick Scianna.Borla.Tubi.ANSA dealer.Ferrari chat sponsor!www.nicksforzaferrari.com

It all depends on your budget, if you can swing it, Tubi is definately the preferred sound for a Ferrari.

I used to wonder why anyone would spend $2,000 for a Tubi.

Then I realized that sound of the exhaust is another dimension of how you can enjoy the car.

So I put a Tubi on and I have been loving and enjoying it ever since.

It is also the pride of ownership thing - Tubi to exhaust is like Ferrari to cars.

Ansa are usually not as loud as Tubi, but do not have a good reputation with rusting out.

I'm going to replace my exhaust on my '80 308 gtsi but haven't quite decided which way to go, Tubi, Ansa or maybe another "system". I am also looking for a source for the exhaust and for some hollow "cats".
Currently I have a pretty open exhaust, just two small after market (unknown brand) mufflers that were installed by previous owner.
I want to maintain the Ferrari Baritone sound but quiet it down at least to be able to carry on a conversation.
Any comments, suggestions, are appreciated.
