ECU learned block memory. A soft set of instructions the car learns based on condition of your car specifically. These get upset due to battery disconnects and power surges. Upsets here cause stalling effects on clutch push in since the engine momentum does not keep the revs up. Often this is seen upon slowing down and clutching in to a stop sign. If you car is at idle with A/C off and then you switch A/C on "and" the revs come up a bit (maybe 100-200rms) then the A/c clutch switch is working and not causing the problem you describe. Failure of revs to come up = a/c clutch switch problem.

Reset ECU LBM bfore you try anything else. Unplug battery. Reconnect start car idles no accesories for 10 minutes. Now try it.

Dan, usually the reason the 348 would stall is because the idle adjustment needs to be set correctly. 348's,(mainly early models) when new, would come in with the idle adjustment bypass screws screwed all the way in and would stall just about everytime that you would come to a stop sign. They were trying to depend soley on the idle motors for idle speed correction and it didn't work. If yours are screwed all the way in, for a quick check without having to buy a monometer, you could just open both the screws about 1 turn on each side and see if it helps. Your idle speed will be corrected by the idle motors. To get the proper engine balance, you really need a monometer to read the vacuum off of each bank and know how to adjust each side accordingly.

I've noticed that once in a while my car stalls when the A/C is on and I put the clutch in. When I come up to a light and put in the clutch it will stall (It does it about every 8th time of so). Does the idle need to be turned up or should I be looking for a bad module? With everything off the car idles at 1000rpm. Car runs fine otherwise, cold or hot.
