Hi Gary.......... Do you have a copy of the CAR magazine road test of the 365 Boxer ? I would like to update the information at my site. It would seem that the weight of the 365 in the Road and Track test must be incorrect as well, in light of the factory dry weight figure of 2717 pounds. Have been informed of a major error in the history of one of the BB/LM machines as well, as evidenced by incorrect serial numbers in the Pascal book. These problems are the very reason why I list references for all of the information at the site. It is my goal to have nothing but accurate information at the Boxer site; am very happy to obtain corrections from anyone with documentation. It would seem to be very difficult to get accurate information for many Ferraris, as evidenced by the "letters to the editor" which follow almost every article in Cavallino magazine. Thank you in advance. Frank.......23005 www.masiarz.net/bb_resource |

What's all the fuss about carbs. Since I got my carbed 512 I have driven in 25 degrees and 80 degrees without any problem. It just takes a little longer to warm up in the lower temps and two pumps of the pedal before firing it up. |

please read the fine print in the masiarz stats. the 365 test is the famous Road and Track test of '75. That 365 had a slipping clutch and a transmission that would stay in nuetral when upshifting at redline! It also had tractability problems below 3000rpms. When a proper 365 was tested by CAR magazine, the tester got 0-60 in 5.3, and 0-100 in 11.3, and reported that the results were achieved w/o alot of wheelspin. Now which one do I pick. I do like the thought of not having to play around w/ carbs. They can be great, but tempermental In terms of top speed, I guess 175 or 177 or even 168 doesn't really matter. I'd only go to about 165.... |

After reading the stats at www.masiarz.net/bb resource it list the 365GT4BB as the slowest Boxer in top speed, 0-60mph and 1/4 mile times. |

From my reading the 365GT4BB had a higher top speed due to its higher horsepower. But, the BB512i accerlerated faster due to its higher torque and lower gear ratio. |

Hi Frank. When you say fastest, are you refering to highest top speed, or quickest acceleration. I've read many of the reviews on all 3 versions and the numbers are all over the place. Did you see the Boxer buyers guide in Forza from the beginning of '98? The group seemed to concede that the 365 was the fastest. With the higher hp rating, albeit at a high rpm, the 365 seems to be the quickest. Also, weren't the 512i's alot heavier than the 365's? I've driven all 3 and the 365 surely had the edge in that old school, screaming hp feel. Maybe I should test drive all 3 versions again, before I get out the check book. Thanks, Gary |

Gary, from my research, while the 365GT4BB may be lighter, make more noise and be rawer than the others, the BB512i is the fastest per the magazine test of the era I have . One of the complaints of the 365 Boxer was that it had poor acceleration due to high gearing. That was remedied in the BBi cars. |

Hi Simon. That's the car I'm looking for! I've seen that there are always a few for sale in the UK, w/ RHD. Please make sure that you drive it as it was intended!! The rawness appeals to me. The 365's are lightest, noisiest and the fastest of the bunch. They're the "purest" of the BB's. Some folks complain that the front end gets light at over 150mph....Some complaint! |

Very good Simon. Sounds like you got a great deal! I love my Boxer but seems funny that every Boxer on the planet for sale has the same amount of miles. I look all the time for Boxers and everyone has 17k to 18k miles.Very Strange! |

Hi Gary Just bought a 1976 365GT4 BB yesterday. What a car, I am really pleased with it. It is just so powerfull and so 'raw'. I looked for six months and this is the best one I have seen. Original black with black leather and 17,600 miles with a detailed history. Right-hand drive but that's fine as I am in London. Simon 1976 365GT4 BB Boxer 1877 400 Auto |

I have an Ansa sport exhaust on my BB512i. It has two cans and no resonators. The pipes in and out of the cans are larger than stock too. It sounds great and only a little louder than stock. |

Hey Dave E! Call Amerispec @ 203-744-0844! They are advertising complete original factory exhaust systems for the 512BB and the 512BBi for a whopping low price of $970. That's right, only $970. Check out their ad in the latest Ferrari Market Letter. Please let us know if this works, as I am in the hunt for BB. First choice (dream) a BB 365 GT4. 2nd, a 512. I may need an exhaust if the the car has US stuff on it. Thanks |

What is the purpose of 4 mufflers on the Boxer 512 exhaust system. I've seen replacement Tubi pics with the 2 main upper and lower portions. What is with the "kegs" located in the upper rear corners as pictured? Any particular function?
