Thanks Peter. Which tires to use with 16" wheels? Obviously has to be a lower profile than those on the current 14" wheels. Is there a formula to convert to correct tire size on larger rims while maintaining same overall tire+wheel diameter? I would also expect that the lower profile tires to be fitted on a 16' rim will handle better due to less sidewall flex. Can I get 8" wide tires to fit in the standard (non-flared) wheelwell? Do you know if Campagnolo makes a 16" wheel? |

The 16" Pentastar wheels (either real Speedlines or repros from England) could fit, but the style would be out-of-place on this car (I've seen Dino's with even the 14" Pentastars like mine, but think they look goofy on this car).
Without a doubt though, the 16" would definitely improve handling. These come in widths of 7 and 8 inches (for front and rear respectively). |

My Dino 246 GTS has 14 inch Chromodora wheels, with 205/70/14 tires. 14 inch tires are getting harder to find. Can I move up to a larger wheel size with a smaller sidewall and still maintain (or improve) handling? Also, can I go to a wider wheel and tire combination without hitting the wheel arches? I do not have wheel flares on this car. |
