If I were you I would have them lower it, better center of gravity and less body roll plus it looks so much better without a gap between the wheel well and the tire...just my 2 cents. -I have had experience in both as well(lowered and not lowered) |

The shocks are computer controlled, but the ride height is set by the adjustment ring on the shock body for the spring seat, a relatively simple adjustment. |

Ross, I think there was a thread on adjusting the settings on some of these cars to lower them. Seems to me it was a 360. You might check the archives. |

Not many people here have 456s and the ones that do probably don't spend all that much time under them, so I would venture to guess very few are familiar with it. I would assume it's like the 360, which has a certain amount of adjustability in the coil overs, just as an coil overs do. I'm just assuming though. If the dealership is saying they can do it then it probably is a simple adjustment like this, I doubt they would be volunteering to pull it all apart, etc. |

i posted this on the chat side and di not get too many informed answers, so i'll try this side: just back from the dealer who showed me 4 different used 456's he had. one of them is absolutely breathtaking - anthracite grey, w/ crema interior - not a common color combo but it works. and it was lowered, which really takes the 'big butt' look out of the rear end. the one i want (the only automatic, don't ask, the wife insists on it for ferrari number 2 so she can drive around town), is not lowered, and the rear wheel arch is about 9-10 cms from the top of the tire. as opposed to the lowered one, at about 3-4 cms. the dealer says he can lower mine as well, and its a simple adjustment of the suspension. frankly i thought it would be much more involved, or mean changing to some kind of 'sport' suspension. does anybody know any more about this? |
