I checked my bottle of Permatex by Loctite anti-seize and shure enough it says right on the bottle that it is okay for O2 sensors. Amazing how far it will get you if you read those darn instructions. Thanks, for the help.

Carmine, I am having test pipes made up for my 512TR and hope to receive them today. When they come in I will reinstall my old O2 sensors. As one of my thermocouples broke off during disassembly, I will either have to replace it or do without. From reading prior posts, I am uncertain as to the need for the thermocouple in the absence of cats. I know the O2s are still needed for engine management, but am uncertain as to the necessity of purchasing a $215.00 thermocouple when I no longer have the cats. I may buy it anyway so that part is available if I ever see the need to return the vehicle to original condition.

The antiseize pastes I've used have either copper or aluminum particles in them.

Also need to be a conductive anti-sieze or they will not have good grounds.

Lloyd,

Why are you reinstalling the O2 sensors?

The last O2 sensors I bought actually came pre-coated with anti-seize on the threads -- just make sure it's an "O2 sensor safe" anti-seize (most are now).

I have a 512TR and will soon be reinstalling my O2 sensors. Should I use anti-seize compound on threads as someone posted in past that O2 sensors don't react well with some anti-seize compounds?
