Why David, is it sticking up a bit? Mine was kinked when I got it. I carefully worked out the dent in the antenna and disassembled the motor unit, cleaned thoroughly and re-lubed. Over the years, water seeped down the antenna and filled the motor housing, corroded the s--- out of it. Now it goes up like a rocket and down just as fast.

It'll use a plastic coil, wrapped around a tapered drum, that pushes/pulls the antenna up/down.

I must have an aftermarket unit, and it is not working properly.

David, I think it is part of the style of the car but, some time ago J.C. Whitney had a windshield antenna that installed on the windshield which was a clear tape with small{thread like} wires inside the tape. Much like the antennas in the windshields of older G.M. cars in the 70's. Then just keep your antenna out of sight.

Even when it's fully down?

Mine just sticks up about 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

I find the 328's antenna obtrusive. Has anyone made a concealed antenna or found a better looking replacement?
