Funny that you should mention that.

Just today, as in a couple of hours ago, I was driving my car back from the mechanic's shop. About 40 miles away, that little hose ruptured. Altho the mechanic had it zip-tied up, I think it may have suffered prior damage from the very same rubbing that you mention.

Call to AAA (no, NOT AA), a tow back, and a free repair later, and I'm down the road.

Car's back in fine condition, new cam belts, valve adjust, etc. Never once went over 110 feet per hour (hey, it's all the faster a GT4 will go. Draw a chalk line to see if it's still moving.) during the 200 mile trip.

I was repairing the cam seal leak on my car and I noticed that the radiator hose from the tank to the thermostat was touching the waterpump wheel. It was wearing away at the hose.

Check your hoses to make sure that your is not doing the same. I could not see a bracket or zip tie that would keep the hose from touching.
