Steve,

Just a thought. Is your oil full?

With external tach and mechanical oil gauge mine was 60 psi at 1100 RPM, warm, VR1 20W-50 oil. I hooked the mechanical oil gauge to the sensor outlet inboard of the filter base.
An informative test. DJ

Stephen,

Get a external tach and check the cold RPM. Ferrari tachs are know to be off a bit.

That sounds pretty normal......I have an 82 308gtsi....I know what you mean about the higher rpm...then in about 1 -2 minutes it drops back down....sounds about right

sounds like the aux air valve is not opening all the way, and needs to be replaced. Cold idle is usually closer to 1500 or so.

All sounds normal.

30psi? are you guessing the gauge? The increaments are not that big. I would guess it's more in the 40-50 range. If it is that low you might have a bad or dirty gauge connection.

When starting my 308 GTSi nine out of ten times the idle speed only increases to approxmately 1,100 RPM (light on dash is on). After the water temp reachs approximately 140 degrees the light goes out and the idle drops to 1,000 RPM. Dirty, or struck aux air valve (nominclature?).

Oil pressure, when warm and using 20W-50 weight oil is approximately 70 to 75 PSI at 3,000 RPM. At idle is approximately 30 PSI. Normal?

Thanks in advance>
