Darren, this is a common malady for the 348/355. Reiner is right. Check the striker (the protruding lug from the frame of the car that the door grabs when it closes. Loosen up the hex bolt, reposition the striker (you may notice from the paint on the frame that the striker's been moving a bit), then retighten. If this fixes the alignment of the door, re-do it with some lock-tite. vty, --Dennis

Darren -- I'm still not exactly following your description of the problem (i.e., a striker alignment issue or an internal door mechanism issue). Can you examine your "good" door and do a mechanism comparison? With the good door open, you should be able to manually close the mechanism at the end of the door that actually captures the striker anchor quite easily/smoothly. It should "click" thru an intermediate position to a final position and release easily when the door handle is actuated. Once your familiar with the good action, please compare it to the "bad" door mechanism and report if similar or different. If the door mechanisms seem similar/working well than it must be a striker alignment issue as the others suggested (i.e., the "bad" door mechanism never reaches the 2nd final position during attempted shutting). More info please... |

Hey Darren, i had this happen on my car. It turned out that the small cylindric stud attached to the frame had come loose (two allan bolts) and moved outward, therefore causing the door to no longer be flush with the body. re-tightening with some threadlock solved that problem. |

Hi, the dirvers door on my 348 won't shut fully / sit flush with the rest of the car. I can't see any problem with its mounts, or the angle of the door to the body. It seems that it may be somthing to do with the lock, Dose anyone know what this may be? Thanks Darren. |
