Doc: Check on 4/30 and 5/1 discussion about the "83'308 headlight stalk". The plastic knob on my headlight stalk didn't work correctly and it was because of a piece of plastic on the inside of the knob that had broken off. The headlights worked fine but evidently the connection inside the knob wasn't good so it wouldn't keep the headlights up. Anyway, this thread should help DJ |

The stalk-twist switch which controls the headlights just began to malfunction. If I twist the switch all the way nothing happens . However, everything works with the switch turned halfway between on and off. This seems to me to be a bad connection somewhere in the switch or stalk itself (?) How do I dismantle this to check for this. I understand that these stalks are expensive and I don't want to screw anything up. Also where are the actual connections located? Once again , everything works perfectly , including beams, with the switch betwwen on and off, so I would guess it's not fuses or relays(?) Any help is appreciated. |
