NEVER MIND... sheesss took me 3 hours to get this one. I reassembled everything, and the same thing happen!!! Turns out that there is a lever out side the bell housing thats welded to a shaft that gos inside the bell housing to move the throw out bearing. Well the lever is pressed onto a shaft then it looks like its welded by ferrari, well the weld broke, making the lever slide on the shaft. |

Just got my carbs fixed on my new rebuilt motor and took it out for a spin, everything worked great, gobs of power, very quick. I was running it pretty hard to break the chrome moly rings in. Anyhow about 3/4 mile down the road while on a shift the clutch dropped to the floor, I thought, crap I just bought the cable 6 months ago. So I get it home, jack it up, and under the car I notice too much play, I adjust all the play out, and press the clutch and it gos to the floor again. I checked the cable it was fine. So I took off the bell housing and the pressure plate looked as it was pressed 1/2 in. But the disc was still tight, as I took off the pressure plate, the vanes retuned to the original hight. I put the bell housing back on without seals just to test it, and now the clutch was ajusted right. My question is, I washed the pressure plate because the plate had gotton dirty, would this cause it not to return like that, because maybe I washed off any grease? Can they go bad that way? Any ideas? |
